Essel Finance Asset Management Company Ltd. is the asset manager of Essel Mutual Fund, originally established back in 2009. The AMC is registered as a trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. It is registered with SEBI vide registration number MF/062/09/03.
The AMC currently offers 58 schemes and has an Asset under Management or AuM of Rs. 1,416 Crore. The company has an innovative approach to investment for both fixed income and equity funds.

Step 1. Research, credit analysis, and yield curve
When researching, the fund managers consider factors like macro-economics, liquidity forecast, and the outlook of interest rates. For credit analysis, they take into account various sectors, issuers, governance, and financial analysis. Lastly, they perform spread analysis, calculate relative evaluation, and consider the short-term and long-term rates for determining the yield curve.
Step 2. Risk management
The fund managers at Essel perform quantitative and qualitative analysis in addition to taking into account the duration of the funds for managing risk.

Step 1. Idea generation

Peerless Mutual Fund, its asset manager Peerless Funds Management Co. Ltd, and its trustee Peerless Trust Management Co. Ltd. were acquired by Essel Finance Wealth Zone Private Ltd. in 2017.
The company is part of the Essel Group, a USD 10 billion conglomerate with subsidiaries like Zee, DNA, Dish TV, Siti Network, Living Foodz, etc.
